Glitch is an extraordinary 2D pixelated platformer featuring minimalistic graphics, exquisite gameplay, and awesome background house music. The simple yet ingenious idea is executed perfectly, making this game truly stand out from similar titles in the beloved genre. The initial simplicity makes you think it’s going to be easy, but the levels of complexity are uncovered as you progress.

Whenever your character jumps, the world starts to glitch. Not only does the color of the background change, but some of the platforms disappear, while the previously translucent ones become solid. This awesome tweak alters the gameplay completely, forcing you to switch up your approach when tackling the obstacles ahead.

How to play Glitch

The aforementioned peculiarities aside, this game plays out just like any other 2D action platformer. This time around, the meticulous use of movement controls won’t be enough, though, since you must think twice before jumping onto the next platform. However, you should get accustomed to the rules quickly, and the gameplay isn’t overly difficult as long as you don’t get careless.

The objective in each level is to guide your character to the exit door. At later stages, you’ll have to reach the small rectangle first to make the door appear, so it’s a good idea to have an entire route planned out. The bigger solid black cubes won’t glitch out even when you do jump, so make sure to use this mechanic to your advantage.

What are the controls for Glitch?

Use the easily discerned arrow buttons to move left/right and jump while playing on a touchscreen device.
Use the WASD/arrow keys to do the same in a PC browser.
