Origin
Origin is a 2D platformer that trades colour and clutter for stark silhouettes and precise jumps. It looks hand-drawn and slightly bleak, and it expects you to learn each screen rather than muscle through it.
How to Play Origin?
You move left and right and you jump, and that is genuinely the whole verb list. The difficulty comes from level design rather than mechanics: hazards are placed to punish momentum you did not plan, so reading a screen before committing to it is worth more than fast fingers. A restart key sits right in the control scheme, which tells you how the game expects to be played, in quick repeated attempts rather than cautious single runs.
What Are the Controls?
Move left with the left arrow or A and right with the right arrow or D. Jump with the up arrow, Space or W. Press R to restart the current attempt, Q to return to the menu, and M to mute. On mobile the same actions are handled by on-screen buttons.
Features
- Tight two-button platforming with an instant restart bound to a key
- Hand-drawn monochrome art that keeps hazards readable
- Level design that rewards planning a screen before you enter it
- Full keyboard remapped onto on-screen controls for mobile
- A story mode that unfolds as you progress rather than through cutscenes
For more precision platforming, Vex 3 is the classic browser take, and OvO pushes momentum and flow even harder.
