You don’t actually get to shoot the bubbles but merely drop them into a free fall from the desired location above. In that regard, it’s much easier to place the numbers at the desired locations than in classic bubble shooters. However, the 2048 number merging component of the game poses a completely different challenge.

How to play Bubble Merge 2048

From the ceiling in each of the levels, you get to drop the bubbles containing values equal to different squares of number two: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc. The identical bubbles merge into the next one in line and destroy the boxes they’re adjacent to when the merger happens. At most levels, the objective is to destroy all the boxes and create a number of targeted values in a limited number of moves.

Optimally, you never want to put the bubbles containing bigger values atop the lower ones. If you do it the other way around, it’s easy to trigger chain reactions that will merge multiple numbers with a single shot and clear the unwanted clutter from the board.

What are the controls for Bubble Merge 2048?

In a PC browser, click on the desired spot to place the next bubble in line onto the board.
Flip your touchscreen device into landscape mode, then hold, drag, and release to drop the bubbles.
