Piece of Cake: Merge & Bake is a merge and cooking puzzle about reviving a run-down countryside café. It is also the most polite way yet devised to lose an entire evening.
The setup is pure small-town Hallmark. Emily's grandfather ran a cafe in the countryside, it has been left to rot, and she has come back from the big city to fix it. You fix it by merging strawberries. Obviously.
How to Play Piece of Cake: Merge & Bake?
Your cooking table is a merge board. Put two matching ingredients together and they combine into something better, and keep going and simple stuff turns into proper dishes. Serve those dishes, collect the money, and spend it restoring the cafe, then its facade, then the rest of the family estate, where a few family secrets are waiting behind the dust sheets.
There are 21 locations to restore in total, each with its own look, and new characters turn up along the way expecting to be fed. Between renovations you can also expand the table itself and upgrade your kitchen tools, which is where the real progress lives.
Tips and Tricks:
- Expand the table early: More space means more ingredients on the board at once, and a cramped board is where merge games go to stall.
- Upgrade your kitchen tools: Better equipment cooks more efficiently, and that pays for everything else.
- Follow the hints: The game shows you what to do from the first missions, so there is no need to guess.
