Experience the traditional Chinese tile-matching game with an exciting twist in Bang Bang Mahjong! In this iteration of the world-renowned strategic puzzle, there are no elevated tiles on a stacked rectangular board. At the first move, you must spot adjacent identical pieces to remove the pair from the board.

Across freed-up space, you can slide the remaining tiles horizontally or vertically until they face their identical pairs. The matching tiles don’t have to be adjacent to each other to remove them, but the straightforward line between them mustn’t be obstructed. These subtle tweaks alter the gameplay completely, effectively creating a truly original Mahjong-inspired puzzle game.

How to play Bang Bang Mahjong

The first couple of moves are usually the toughest simply because you must find adjacent pairs to start things off. Removing only two identical tiles from the board won’t really give you much room to work with either. However, you should be able to spot at least a couple and free up some additional space.

Pieces that are next to each other can be pushed together as long as there’s empty space to move them in the desired direction. It’s important to perceive that when making these maneuvers, the tile you select to play with must meet its pair. Otherwise, the move won’t be viable.

What are the controls for Bang Bang Mahjong?

At the beginning of each level, tap or click on a tile adjacent to its matching pair to remove them.
Next, tap or click on a tile you want to move across the freed-up space, then hold and drag until it aligns with its match horizontally or vertically.
