If Ludo was invented today, there still would be people whining about the game mechanics and begging for gameplay changes and patch notes. Luckily, this awesome classic strategy tabletop dice game has been played around the world in the same format since 1896. Now you can play it on the device of your choice against AI opponents or your friends.

Players take turns alternately in a clockwise direction, and the goal is to successfully guide all 4 tokens from the yard to the home triangle. To deploy a token from the yard to the board, a player must roll a six, and rolling the highest dice number also provides an extra move. The fun part is that once a player’s token lands on an already occupied tile, the opponent’s token is returned to the yard.

How to play Ludo

It’s essential to deploy tokens on the board, even if you risk being captured by the opponent. While working with multiple tokens, you’ll have much more opportunities to make the right play. Assess the situation on the board before deciding which token to move, and don’t beat yourself up if you’ve made a potentially wrong decision. It’s all about having fun while playing it.
