There are 3 mine facilities you can upgrade — mine shafts, the elevator, and the warehouse. Once you’ve accumulated enough cash, you can dig deeper and open new shafts which are more profitable than the previous ones.

For optimal income, upgrade the mine shafts first, and only upgrade other facilities when you notice that the transport is unable to keep up with the production. Manager upgrades are quite costly, but if you’ve accumulated enough idle income, the investment is well worth it.
