Cuphead is a 2D platform running game that draws inspiration for its visual and musical style from the cartoons made in the first half of the 20th century. The protagonist is perpetually running, so all you can do to guide him on the quest to collect all the coins is perform timely jumps.
If you played any of the classics from the golden age of action platforms and feel nostalgic for the good old games, look no further! There are up to 30 levels to complete, countless menacing obstacles to overcome, and opportune jumps to execute.
How to play Cuphead
To complete each level, you must exit through the door that won’t appear until you’ve collected all the coins. Once your character hits the wall, it will start running toward the other side, and this is essentially the only way to switch the movement direction.
Look at every death as the opportunity to learn from your mistakes, and promptly you’ll be able to master the timing of your jumps. It’s a good idea to watch the character’s feet closely to determine the optimal moment, especially if you need to hop over a big gap.
In the harder levels, you’ll have to execute several carefully thought-out moves correctly to get out that door. This is often very hard to achieve in only a couple of attempts, so you must hold your nerve and steadily practice every step of the way until you’ve reached the goal.
