Since the mess is off the charts and might overwhelm you initially, clicking on the broom at the very top of the screen hints at the exact location of every object that must be properly disposed of.

Similarly, once the menu with cleaning tools pops up, whichever one is currently selected, the in-game tips will point out the spots you’re supposed to use it on. Restoring the entire house to splendid condition is a grueling task, but once it’s all done, you’ll get to choose new furniture and wallpapers.
