Superhex.io
Superhex.io takes the territory game and rebuilds it out of hexagons. Every patch of the board you claim is permanent, every trip outside your borders is a gamble, and the map fills up quickly once other players work out what they are doing.
How to Play Superhex.io?
You control a single character that leaves a trail behind it whenever it leaves your own territory. Draw a shape out in open ground and connect the line back to land you already own, and everything enclosed becomes yours. The catch is the trail itself. While you are outside your borders that line is exposed, and if an enemy touches it you are finished on the spot. The same rule works in your favour, so cutting other players off mid-expansion is the fastest way up the leaderboard.
What Are the Controls?
Steer with the mouse or the arrow keys, whichever you prefer. There is no attack button, since contact with an enemy trail is the only weapon in the game. Graphics quality can be switched between High, Medium and Low from the menu if the board starts to stutter.

For the square edged version of the same idea, Paper.io 2 is the obvious next stop, and Splix.io is where the format started.
